Level 2 Furniture Manufacturer transition

The Level 2 Furniture Manufacturer apprenticeship is coming to the end of its review. The apprenticeship has 10 pathways which have been broken up into 7 new standards.

In October 2024 the first of these new standards, Fitted Interiors Installer was launched and now has its first apprentices. This month the following 3 new standards have been released. These standards are now open for registrations and documentation available to our customers on the centre portal, rogo.

• Level 2 Furniture Making Operative
• Level 2 Furniture Finisher
• Level 3 Furniture Restorer (note this has changed to a Level 3 standard)

The following 3 new standards will be released during the next 6 months, they are:

• Mattress Manufacturing Operative (Winter 2024)
• Upholstery operative (Spring 2025)
• Wood Machinist (Spring 2025)

We understand that periods of transition can lead to many questions. Our team is always on hand to help answer any questions our customers may have, so please do get in touch if you need guidance as you prepare for the new standards.

At this time we understand from IFATE that a grace period will be put in place of approximately 2 weeks to allow providers to register on either the old or the new standard. As each standard is released we will of course let our centres know of any changes to these transition arrangements
