Level 3

Fitted Furniture Design Technician apprenticeship standard

Design Technician’s work with customers to create their perfect design for their chosen interior.

This apprenticeship standard includes fitted kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, car interiors, boats and ships. In addition technician’s are often required to work on bespoke one-off commercial developments. Due to the skilled nature of the work this standard is at level 3.

The end-point assessment for this standard is regulated by The Office or Qualifications and Examinations Regulation, Ofqual.

The Level 3 End-Point Assessment for Fitted Furniture Design Technician is on the national qualifications register, Qualification Approval Number 603/7536/X.

What are the end-point assessment requirements

End-point assessment involves two components:

  1. A workplace observation of 3 hours that will observe the apprentice carrying out a set of activities. The observation will include a 30-minute questioning session
  2. A professional discussion underpinned by a ‘Portfolio of evidence’

It will result in a combined grade of pass or distinction.
