Advanced Technician’s manufacture furniture and furniture components using computer numerically controlled machinery to perform precision tasks

Advanced Technician’s are responsible for producing machined components to meet specifications, maintaining quality and safety standards and maintaining equipment.

What are the end-point assessment requirements

End-point assessment involves three components:

  1. A multiple-choice test of 45-minutes under controlled conditions
  2. A workplace observation of 3 hours that will observe the apprentice carrying out a set of activities. The observation will include a 30-minute questioning session
  3. A 1-hour professional discussion underpinned by a ‘Portfolio of evidence’

It will result in a combined grade of pass or distinction.
